Summary:Often times in the quest to find true love, people begin to desperately look for ways to find others with which they are compatible. This has led to a slew of websites and dating services dedicated to finding that perfect someone based on several points of compatibility.

I don’t doubt the reasoning and science behind such sites, and there is a school of thought that I find downright silly. There is the age old practice of finding a compatible mate based on date of birth. Unfortunately, this probably has the same success rate of opening the phone book, closing your eyes and…well you get the idea.

People’s behaviors and personalities are complex and cannot be determined by something as arbitrary as the date of birth. Of course, this is connected to the idea that whatever zodiac sign you are born under affects your personality.

These days, it seems to be the most common question when you first meet someone “what’s your sign?” With the divorce rate over fifty percent, could it be that we shouldn't be putting stock in the ability of astrology to determine compatibility? For those of you who are looking for a compatible person to become your husband or wife, stop considering dates of birth and start considering people.
