Keep in mind you’ll also be buying plenty of toys, books, furniture and accessories for your little one, so enough money has to be available. One good method is to decide ahead of time exactly how much you’re willing to pay on each piece of baby clothing.
For the basic items like onesies, shirts and pants, try not to spend more than $7-$10 per item. This may mean you have to avoid the expensive boutiques and their designer baby clothes, but trust me, your baby will look fine without them. Don’t get me wrong, the trendy apparel is great, but booties, shoes and even heavy snow boots don’t have to go above $15, and that’s pushing it. Of course, I’m referring to prices that mom and dad will find at their local giant discount store. Don’t count them out just because they don’t have the latest trends. Fashion doesn’t really count that much when you’re in diapers. |
