Designer Baby Clothes

Summary:Some parents may think they’re doomed to shop discount stores for their baby clothes because of their tight budgets, but this is not necessarily a bad thing. Many discount stores carry overstocked designer items, so your little one’s closet can be well adorned without going over budget.

Besides, often times the high end stores sell their infant clothing at a markup that is much higher than what they paid wholesale. Basically, mom and dad get stuck paying for the fact that a dress or shirt was bought at a fancy store. Boutiques aren’t the only ones that do this. Some large department stores you find in malls are guilty of doing the same overpricing. This is how they can afford to have such huge sales and still make a profit. The key to getting the nice clothes for your babe is to shop the lower priced stores and sales at the higher end establishments.

Getting these great prices on designer quality baby clothing isn’t as difficult as it seems. As long as you know from the beginning what your little girl or boy needs, you can keep an eye out for the advertised sales. There is one other option available that doesn’t involve sniffing out a sale. There are upscale boutiques with online stores, some of which are exclusively online. Because it’s cheaper to run an online store, the prices of products are usually much better than a comparable physical store. This way, you can seek out the great prices right from home and have the apparel shipped to you.

Designer Clothes with a Conscience

© Little Pampered Babies 2007

You’ve seen it all over the news: some designer or celebrity is shocked to discover that their clothing line is being made by underage minors in a horrible sweatshop overseas. Whether or not they’re actually innocent is up for debate, but this highlights the fact that many clothes, even the upscale designer ones, are manufactured under inhumane conditions. Since there’s no sure way to tell what clothing companies are and aren’t producing product this way, what can parents do to help? You can’t really boycott baby clothes since they are without a doubt a necessity, but if you shop in the organic market for all your baby boy and baby girl clothes, then you know the clothing was made under the right conditions.

All natural products are made very differently from the usual fare of mass produced items.

They come from smaller farms and are not made with any chemicals or genetic modification. This is very important when getting something for a fragile baby, but it’s an added bonus that organic baby clothing is never produced in any sweatshop. It’s true that is does cost more, but you get higher quality apparel and the satisfaction of knowing that you’re helping the families that make it. Natural items have become so popular that there is a wide selection of clothing that is just as good as any designer items, so enjoy shopping around.
